Poker Bluffing

Throw your poker opponent off by bluffing

For those players that already know the basics of poker, but who are looking for some tips to improve their game, there are many strategies they can incorporate into their play in order to be a better poker player.

For example, attempt the strategy of bluffing. Bluffing is the idea behind throwing your opponent of course. In poker, one of the best strategies card sharks use is to analyze their player's play. If you are a player that can be easily read, this can be detrimental to your play. If an opponent knows that you bet strong when you have a good hand, he will know when to fold and save his money.

However, by bluffing, you can learn to throw your opponent off track. At the poker table, try slow playing, betting weak with a strong hand, or betting strong with a weak hand. Your opponent will quickly become confused by your actions and you can see this play out to your advantage.

Yet another great way to improve your poker play is by card counting. Card counting had been done by poker sharks for years. This is the idea of keeping tracking how many cards have already been played and of what value and suit. Although this can never be an exact number, it can improve your odds when it comes to deciding whether or not to take a card.
